Employees Elected Officers of Local Health Physics Chapter

RICHLAND, Wash. – Dade Moeller & Associates, Inc. (www.moellerinc.com) announces that Senior Health Physicists [radiation protection scientists] Donald N. Stewart and Mark R. Fishburn have been named officers of the Columbia Chapter of the Health Physics Society for the 2009–2010 year. Stewart was elected President-Elect of the Chapter. Fishburn, who was elected President-Elect last year, now assumes the role of Chapter President.

A full-time Dade Moeller & Associates employee since 2003 and a Certified Health Physicist since November 2006, Stewart has 13 years of professional experience in health physics. Currently, Stewart performs radiation dose reconstructions in support of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. He is a 13-year resident of the Tri-Cities.

Fishburn is a Certified Health Physicist with 16 years of experience in a broad range of health physics topics. He manages a group of health physicists in ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of radiation dose reconstructions performed under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act. A 16-year resident of the Tri-Cities area, Fishburn was named the Columbia Chapter’s Health Physicist of the Year in 2008.

The two began their terms in August, 2009. They will serve for one year, when Stewart will automatically ascend to Chapter President, and Fishburn will become Past-President.
