Occupational Safety

Dade Moeller & Associates staff members have developed and implemented safety programs and provided expertise to ensure successful implementation of customers’ occupational safety programs. Our safety professionals have also ensured compliance with health and safety-related regulations, provided health and safety training, performed health and safety program assessments, hazardous materials evaluations, safety program audits and surveillances, and field inspections for construction projects.

Industrial Hygiene

Our industrial hygienists have developed and maintained industrial hygiene and industrial safety program elements and implementing procedures to ensure compliance with DOE Orders and other Federal and state regulations. Our team, a number of whom are certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygienists, provides leadership roles and oversight for health and safety programs to a number of clients, including Federal agencies, and ensures compliance with relevant parts of the Code of Federal Regulations.

Hazard Assessment and Control

Dade Moeller & Associates safety professionals are highly experienced in recognition, identification, and evaluation of hazards in the workplace. We use a systematic process to document this assessment, and then select management, administrative, and/or engineered controls to mitigate or eliminate worker exposure to the hazard.

Worker Training

Our qualified trainers are experienced in developing and conducting regulatory required training in chemical hazard communication, emergency response, confined space entry, asbestos and lead worker awareness training, hearing conservation, waste minimization, ergonomic design, heat/cold stress, and site-specific hazards.

Emergency Preparedness

The Company’s staff has extensive experience with emergency management and emergency preparedness services. Our safety professionals are qualified to determine exposure risks to workers, the environment and the public in the event of an emergency and to develop response and mitigation plans, conduct of drills, and facility and operations vulnerability assessments.

10 CFR 851, Worker Safety & Health Program

New regulations from the U.S. Department of Energy codify worker protection program requirements. The new DOE rule, 10 CFR 851, establishes the framework for a worker protection program that will reduce or prevent occupational injuries, illnesses, and accidental losses by requiring DOE contractors to provide their employees with safe and healthful workplaces. DOE contractors must be in compliance by May 25, 2007, although DOE may direct contractors to be compliant contractually before February 9, 2007. Dade Moeller & Associates is already working with our customers to assist them in their compliance efforts.
